Introduction to Zen and Meditation

During our time together, we’ll keep things simple and approachable. You’ll be shown how to sit in meditation, and if you’ve meditated before, it can just be a gentle refresher. We’ll also do some chanting of Buddhist teachings, and take part in a few traditional forms of practice, such as walking quietly, eating in silence, and simply being present together.

You don’t need to know anything ahead of time, and there’s nothing to do perfectly. The forms are just there to help us slow down, settle the mind, and experience a little more calm and stillness. There will be time to ask questions and for a short talk by Seien Roshi.
